Gov. Signs Law Requiring X-Mod Credits for 3rd-Party Recoveries

A bill that will take effect on Aug. 1 requires Louisiana workers' compensation carriers to deduct any credits received from third-party actions when calculating an employer's loss experience modifier. Gov. John Bel Edwards on Monday signed into law Senate Bill 44 by Sen. Ryan Gatti, R-Bossier City. Both the House of Representatives and Senate approved the bill with unanimous votes in May.
