Kenneth Birch Appointed to Board of Magistrates

Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm has appointed Kenneth Birch of Holt to the Worker's Compensation Board of Magistrates for a term expiring Jan. 26, 2013.Birch, a former magistrate, succeeds the late Michael Harris on the board.The Board of Magistrates operates within the Department of Energy, Labor and Economic Growth.Magistrates are responsible for conducting hearings in disputes that arise under the Worker's Disability Compensation Act and hearing cases related to worker's compensation claims.The appointment is confirmed unless disapproved by the Michigan Senate within 60 days.
