California Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara announced appointments to the board of governors for the California Insurance Guarantee Association and the Governing Committee of the Workers’ Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau.
Lara appointed Alex Timm, co-founder and CEO of Root Insurance, to the CIGA board.
The CIGA board of governors oversees the guarantee association’s general operations and management in order to protect policyholders in the event an insurance company becomes insolvent.
