The West Virginia Supreme Court upheld an award of additional benefits and treatment for an injured coal miner. Case: Harrison County Coal Resources Inc. v. Burgoyne, No. 22-0208, 01/25/2024. Facts: James Burgoyne worked as a miner for Harrison County Coal Resources Inc. He reported an injury to his neck and shoulder from being jarred while driving a dump truck at work. X-ray imaging taken on the day of the reported injury indicated no acute cervical spine abnormalities or bilateral shoulder fractures.
