The Texas Division of Workers' Compensation has extended the deadline for public comments on rules that would govern how nurse practitioners can sign off on work-status reports.
The rules were required by House Bill 387, which was signed into law this year. The law allows treating physicians to delegate to advanced-practice nurses the authority to complete, sign and file the status reports, the DWC said in a bulletin.
