Four drivers are suing Amazon.com and a courier company it contracted with for a nascent same-day delivery service alleging they were illegally misclassified as independent contractors.
Plaintiffs Taree Truong, Kahled Alkojak, Olga Georgieva and Cynthia Miller were hired by courier Scoobeez to work for Amazon's "Prime Now" service, which promises to deliver certain items within one or two hours. The program is available in Los Angeles and Orange counties, and recently expanded to San Francisco and San Jose.
