The board of directors for Utah's Workers Compensation Fund could add two new members under a bill lawmakers passed to the desk of Gov. Gary Herbert.
The Senate on Thursday voted 27-0 to pass House Bill 230, by Rep. Val L. Peterson, R-Orem. The House passed the bill 65-1 on Feb. 11.
If signed into law, the bill would allow the seven members of the board to vote on whether to add two new directors. The board would have to determine by a unanimous vote if the expansion is necessary, and WCF policyholders would have to remain a majority on the board.
