OAKLAND, Calif. – An outsider who happened upon the California Workers’ Compensation Institute’s annual meeting Thursday would have to be excused for thinking system users are gearing up for reforms rather than monitoring the results of sweeping changes that went into effect three years ago.
There was some discussion about the impact of Senate Bill 863. But the majority of the conversation was about how California’s workers’ compensation system could be improved, with a specific focus on reducing frictional costs and improving medical care.
