Woman Faces Prison for Phony Comp Claim

A Northern California woman has pleaded no contest to a felony count of workers' compensation fraud and a misdemeanor count of making a false claim in connection with an automobile accident.Maria Garcia Navarro, 24, of Watsonville faces up to five years in prison, the Monterey County District Attorney's Office said Tuesday, according to reports in The Californian and the Monterey Herald newspapers.
