The New York State Workers’ Compensation Board proposed rules that would provide a permanent option for telehealth visits and update the durable medical equipment fee schedule.
The telehealth rules would allow using two-way audio and video communications following an initial in-person clinical visit, subject to a list of 11 restrictions. Some of the limitations under the proposed rules would require that services be provided by the person who rendered treatment at the first visit and that every third visit be held in person.
