The Oregon Workers’ Compensation board will continue deliberating possible rules relating to translating evidence written in languages other than English when it meets in August.
The board last year started assessing ways to ensure that people who aren’t proficient in English are not disadvantaged. The Access to Justice Committee of the Oregon State Bar last year requested that the board adopt rules creating a process to translate into English materials written by an injured worker who speaks a different language.
