Jasper County Worker Indicted on Comp Fraud Charge

An injured worker from Louin, Miss., was indicted this week on a charge of workers' compensation fraud based on allegations that he continued to receive benefits after returning to work.The Associated Press reported Monday that David Myrick Cox, 55, surrendered to investigators of Attorney General Jim Hood's Insurance Integrity Unit at the Jasper County, Miss., Sheriff's Office.The indictment alleges that, while working for Jasper County, Cox filed a workers' compensation claim in February 2012 and returned to work the following May.
