An Ohio appellate court ruled that a worker who suffered the amputation of three fingers was not entitled to an award for the loss of use of his hand.

Facts: Broc N. Root worked for RS Resources. His hand got caught in a break press while he was at work in March 2012.
The accident resulted in the amputation of his pinky finger at the distal phalanx, and the partial amputation of his middle and ring fingers.
Doctors were unable to reattach the middle and ring fingers.
