The unfunded liability for Florida's second-injury fund has continued to drop and now stands at less than $237 million, according to an actuarial report.
Aon Risk Solutions reported that the Special Disability Trust Fund's unfunded liability, as of June 2020, was $94 million less than in 2019. Actual paid losses for fiscal 2020 were about $25 million, significantly lower than the average for the previous three years.
And the number of open claims has fallen sharply, from 4,400 in 2017 to 952 this year, the report found.
