Employer Had Duty to Inform Carrier about Claim after Applying for renewed Coverage

The Arizona Court of Appeals on Tuesday ruled that an employer did not have coverage for a worker's accident, which occurred the day after its comp policy lapsed, even though it had secured a renewal of its policy that took effect retroactively to the moment that its prior policy expired.
