Oregon’s Management-Labor Advisory Committee will continue discussing how the state’s comp system is handling COVID-19 claims, during meetings scheduled for Wednesday and Friday.
MLAC members have identified eight issues relating to workers’ compensation claims and COVID-19 that include a need to clarify whether the disease can be a workplace injury or occupational condition.
Committee members, who have already met four times since June 30 to discuss the pandemic, also identified what appear to be “bad faith denials” from a handful of specific employers.
