California lawmakers voted to pass bills to create a presumption that certain injuries are compensable for hospital workers, allow independent bill review to resolve disputes over contractual discounts and require certain entities to report suspected premium fraud to the state.
The Assembly on Wednesday voted 76-0 to pass AB 1048, by Phillip Chen, D-Brea, which would allow providers to use independent bill review to dispute the application of a contractual discount or reduction to a payment.
