A Texas food supplement manufacturer and a staffing firm both face $7,000 in fines for safety violations after a worker's hand was amputated when it was caught in an auger conveyer, the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration said.
OSHA issued one willful citation to Genesis Today Inc. in Austin for failing to provide machine guarding to prevent workers from being caught in the conveyer. OSHA also cited Texas Management Division, which provided temporary workers to the plant, for a serious violation for failing to ensure the machine was properly guarded.
