Oregon Gov. Kate Brown on Wednesday enacted legislation allowing carriers to store workers’ compensation claim records outside of the state, such as on cloud servers.
Brown signed House Bill 2039, which permits carriers and self-insured employers to store claim records anywhere so long as the records are available to regulators and case participants at a location in Oregon.
Another provision in the measure declares that anyone contracting with a licensed landscaping company isn’t required to carry comp coverage for the landscaper’s employees.
