A handful of regulatory changes proposed in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic are now in the hands of California’s insurance commissioner following a public hearing Monday.
The changes proposed by the Workers’ Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau last month would take effect July 1 if Commissioner Ricardo Lara gives his approval.
The proposal would make four changes to workers’ compensation rules, and they would be active as long as some portion of Gov. Gavin Newsom’s stay-at-home order is in effect, officials said.
