The Illinois Workers’ Compensation Fraud Unit released its annual report of fraud cases in 2014, while also recommending a series of changes to the system that could help combat future fraud.
According to the WCFU report, 71% of all fraud cases are by employees, followed by employers at 15%. Of the complaints logged with the WCFU, insurance companies have issued the most at 27%, followed by attorneys (15%) and individuals (13%).
