A California appellate court upheld the dismissal of a chiropractor’s defamation claim against the California Insurance Guarantee Association and its claims administrator for mistakenly identifying him as having been indicted on fraud charges in a series of communications among parties.
An injured worker filed a workers’ compensation claim in April 2015. After the employer’s workers’ compensation carrier became insolvent, the California Insurance Guarantee Association assumed the carrier’s liabilities by operation of law.
