The Hays Board of Education has contracted with the Kansas Association of School Boards for its annual workers’ compensation coverage, rejecting a slightly higher bid from United Heartland and stirring controversy over a possible cancellation fee, the Hays Daily News reported.
At its July 21 meeting, the board accepted the KASB bid of $237,502, which undercut United Heartland’s bid of $239,652.
