Printers and nurses have the highest risk for occupational asthma, twice as high as other people with exposure to substances known to cause the disease, according to a British study released this week.
The article published in the Lancet found that printers have the highest excess risk (137%) of developing occupational asthma; nurses and woodworking have the second-highest risk (122%). After exposure to substances known to cause occupational asthma, on average, participants had a 60% excess risk to developing the condition.
