The Washington state Department of Labor and Industries needs about 500 employers to participate in a pilot project for workplace injury and occupational disease claims. Washington set up its claims system so that physicians who treat injured workers generate accident reports that are reported to the state. In most states, employers are responsible for filing the report of injury.
