A premises owner that obtained workers' compensation for its subcontractors' employees can also be considered general contractors and are thus immune from torts, the Texas Supreme Court ruled Friday.
The state high court found that Entergy Gulf States established that it "procure(ed) the performance of work" by asking the subcontractor to supply workers to perform maintenance.
