Rate Regulation Moves in CA Senate

The Senate Labor and Industrial Relations Committee on Wednesday passed a bill that would end California's 12-year-old experiment with deregulated workers' compensation insurance rates, but insurers were so unconcerned they didn't even bother to attend the hearing. A similar bill introduced last year crumbled under the threat of veto by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.
