Calif. Employers Looking at Higher Costs for Comp

California employers can expect to pay more in workers' compensation costs next year regardless of what Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner decides after today's public hearing on a proposed rate increase. That proposed pure premium rate increase jumped by a full percentage point to 5.2% on Friday, after the California Workers' Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau added the estimated cost of Assembly Bill 338 to an earlier proposal.
