A new medical-fee schedule for Illinois workers' compensation providers will be introduced as an emergency rule to meet the Feb. 1 deadline set forth in the 2005 reform law.
The Workers' Compensation Medical Fee Advisory Board on Friday held its inaugural meeting, which drew an estimated 75 stakeholders, according to spokeswoman Susan Piha. The meeting was cordial, she said, noting that last year's reform law was very specific about the formula for reimbursing health care providers, hospitals and clinics that treat injured workers.
