The Texas workers' compensation agency's medical director that insurers credit with kicking "bad doctors" out of the system has resigned.
Dr. Bill Nemeth stepped down March 1 from the post that he held for five years with the state's workers' compensation authority. He will pursue opportunities in the private sector, he told an Texas insurance industry publication.
Nemeth served as medical director for five years for the Texas Workers' Compensation Commission and its successor, the DWC, which was created in September.
