The California Supreme Court agreed to expedite oral arguments on apportionment after hearing pleas from attorneys that the missing formula has plugged the workers' compensation court system with unfinished disability cases. The Supreme Court on Thursday announced it has given calendar preference to the Welcher, Brodie cases. The Workers' Compensation Appeals Board and the two attorneys in Contra Costa County firefighter Stan Brodie's disability claim jointly filed petitions with the court for expedited status of their cases.
