The owner of a Southern California construction firm began serving a two-year prison
sentence Tuesday as part of his conviction on felony workers' compensation insurance
fraud, the State Compensation Insurance Fund said.
Lawrence S. Hatfield, 59, of Orange County, owner of Builders Framing,
Inc. was sentenced on April 12, 2005, in Riverside County Superior Court after being convicted of five counts of workers' compensation insurance fraud. A judge also ordered Hatfield to pay State
