The family of a man who died while playing in a basketball game, one of many regularly allowed by the employer, should receive death benefits, the Tennessee Supreme Court ruled.
The high court did not find the employer's argument, which relied on Young v. Taylor-White that the fact that the man's death from an acute myocardial infarction happened during a voluntary basketball game precluded it from being compensable.
