Poochigian Says SBX 4 Fixes 'Illogical' Penalties

One of the topics of hearings yesterday before the Senate Labor & Industrial Relations Committee was penalties. Senator Chuck Poochigian , R-Fresno, issued the following statement yesterday regarding his position on penalties, stating that the penalty provisions in the Labor Code have evolved beyond their intent, and no longer provide incentive for timely payment of indemnity or provision of medical benefits.
