A company that ran 62 Pizza Hut restaurants in San Diego County has been ordered to pay nearly $700,000 for business practices that included not carrying workers' compensation insurance.
Judge Charles Hayes signed the settlement and ordered franchisee RLLW to pay $695,000, according to a news release by county District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis. The dollar amount included a $315,000 penalty, $125,000 costs, and restitution of $105,000 to State Compensation Insurance Fund.
