Union Presses Perry on Overdue Appointment

AUSTIN -- The president of the Texas AFL-CIO has called for the immediate appointment of someone to fill the Office of Injured Employee Counsel post created by HB 7, charging that workers are being denied representation in rule making by the delay. Gov. Rick Perry three weeks ago missed a statutory deadline for making the appointment.
