AUSTIN -- The president of the Texas AFL-CIO has called for the immediate appointment of someone to fill the Office of Injured Employee Counsel post created by HB 7, charging that workers are being denied representation in rule making by the delay.
Gov. Rick Perry three weeks ago missed a statutory deadline for making the appointment.
In a letter dated Oct. 21, union leader Emmett Sheppard expressed "serious concern" that Perry had not yet appointed someone to the post.
