PCI Notes FMCSA Truck Crash Report

The Property Casualty Insurance Association of America (PIA) reported a study by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) confirms that car drivers most often make "the critical mistake" in car-truck collisions. The FMCSA conducted its "Large Truck Crash Causation Study" to identify areas needing effective crash countermeasures. The study analyzed 967 crashes involving at least one large truck (over 10,000 pounds gross vehicle weight) and resulting in at least one injury or death.
