San Diego, California - 11/14/2025 - Dietz, Gilmor & Chazen, APC, a California statewide law firm practicing exclusively in workers' compensation defense, subrogation, asbestos, Labor Code §132a, and serious and willful misconduct claims, promotes Peter M. Golden, Esq. to Partner.
Mr. Golden is a Partner based out of the San Diego office of Dietz Gilmor & Chazen, but maintains a caseload covering many venues throughout the State of California. He is an active member of the National Association of Subrogation Professionals and is a Certified Specialist in California Workers' Compensation.
EDUCATION
Peter "Pete" Golden received Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Speech Communication and History from the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington, in 1994. He received his Juris Doctor from Seattle University School of Law in Seattle, Washington, in 1998.
BACKGROUND
After initially being admitted to the Washington State Bar Association in 1999, Mr. Golden next earned admission as a member of the State Bar of California in 2002 and further became certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization for Workers' Compensation Law in 2013.
Mr. Golden is the Statewide Subrogation Manager for Dietz, Gilmor & Chazen. He has litigation experience as lead trial attorney in trials to verdict in Superior Court, with experience in general liability and employment law matters. His unique experience in workers' compensation defense and civil litigation is relied upon by public and private self-insured and self-administered employers, insurance and reinsurance carriers, and brokers and risk-management entities to pursue financial recovery through subrogation actions. He takes pride in aggressively pursuing recovery on behalf of his clients.
He began his California workers' compensation defense litigation career in Northern California in 2002 and then moved to San Diego in 2017. He has defended claims in nearly all WCAB venues in California in over two decades practicing workers' compensation defense litigation. His skill and longevity in workers' compensation defense litigation offer his clients experience in the most complex workers' compensation cases, including Serious and Willful Misconduct and Labor Code Section §132a claims.
Outside of work, Mr. Golden enjoys all that nature has to offer from the ocean to the mountains, with experience in alpine mountaineering, rock climbing, skiing, winter camping (building and sleeping in igloos), stand-up paddleboarding, surfing, and sailing. He loves sports and grew up participating in a number of competitive sports, including soccer, springboard diving, swimming, and tennis. Married for over 30 years, Peter is blessed with three children, their spouses, and a grandchild.
