Preferred Medical Announces New CEO and COO

Board promotes two industry leaders to aid company growth and prosperity

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (March 26, 2020) - Preferred Medical, a national workers' compensation pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) and ancillary services provider, is announcing two significant changes to its leadership team. Amy L. Wrightsel, the current chief operating officer, has been promoted to chief executive officer, and Craig Towner, currently senior vice president of operations, has been promoted to chief operating officer.

Wrightsel has informally functioned as the CEO for several years, leading the development and execution of long-term strategies for Preferred Medical; this promotion will formalize her role and the value she brings. Wrightsel has extensive industry knowledge and has been with Preferred Medical for 17 years, starting as a client service associate and working her way up. She has become a successful and trusted leader, doing whatever it takes to meet the needs of her customers and employees.

"I am honored and grateful for the opportunity to lead the continued growth of Preferred Medical," said Wrightsel. "It's been amazing to see the organization change since my arrival, and I look forward to continuing to bring value to our customers and the injured workers they help."

Towner, who previously served as senior vice president of operations, will now lead PBM and Ancillary Service Operations for Preferred Medical. He will focus on the design and implementation of the company's day-to-day operations, processes and resources, ensuring efficiency and a continued dedication to providing customers with personalized, focused care.

Prior to joining Preferred Medical, Towner worked with Fortune 100 companies, hospitals and individual consumers of healthcare products. He holds an MBA in Healthcare Administration.

"I am grateful to move to such a key role in the company," said Towner. "Continual evolution is so important for Preferred Medical's growth, and I look forward to collaborating with our leadership team to steer the company toward further success and new offerings."
