The Occupational Safety and Health Administration fined a Georgia boat manufacturer $44,000 this week for exposing its workers to dust particulates.
Dust particulate levels at Chaparral Boats in Nashville clocked in above the permissible exposure limit.
Despite this, workers didn't receive medical exams.
OSHA cited Chaparral for particulate exposure (a repeat violation, as the problem dates to 2013), failure to provide medical evaluations and failure to take steps to minimize workers' exposure to the particulates.
