Almost three months after he was charged with prescribing more than 1 million oxycodone pills to drug-addicted patients, a New York City pain doctor has been barred from treating injured workers.
The New York Workers' Compensation Board announced Wednesday that it temporarily suspended Dr. Howard Adelglass' authorization.
“The chair believes that Dr. Adelglass may be guilty of misconduct, and that such misconduct would detrimentally affect the quality of care provided to injured workers,” reads the bulletin from Chairwoman Clarissa Rodriguez.
