A California Senate committee passed a measure that would exclude from the cap on temporary disability benefits time spent successfully disputing the denial of requested medical treatment.
The Senate Committee on Labor, Public Employment and Retirement on Thursday voted 4-0 to pass AB 1213, by Assemblymember Liz Ortega, D-Hayward.
In most cases, injured workers can receive temporary disability benefits for up to 104 weeks.
