Worker's Fatal Fall Brings $295,000 in Fines to 2 Companies

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has issued seven citations with fines totaling $295,000 to Kirberg Roofing of Kansas City, Kan., and Davila Sheet Metal Co. of Raytown, Mo., following an investigation of the death of a Kirberg construction worker who fell approximately 40 feet through a roof opening.OSHA reported its inspection of the Kirberg Roofing work site resulted in two willful and two serious citations.The agency also reported that while investigators were on the site, they found that Davila Sheet Metal allegedly had exposed its workers to fall hazards and issued the co...
