Foundry Contesting $160,200 in Fines for 31 alleged Safety Violations

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration is proposing $160,200 in fines against a Prescott, Kansas, aluminum foundry that the agency says did not train employees on how to handle and store chlorine gas. OSHA said it inspected Custom Alloy Sales 34P LLC in September 2014 after receiving a complaint. Investigators found employees endangered by confined-space hazards while working in foundry furnaces.
