Kentucky Panel Okays Staying with AMA Fifth

The Kentucky House Labor and Industry Committee has approved a bill affirming a call by the state's chief workers' compensation regulator to further delay use of the Sixth Edition of the American Medical Association (AMA) Guides to the Permanent Evaluation of Impairment.The panel voted 10-2 Feb. 12 to change Kentucky law to require doctors, carriers and others to continue using the Fifth Edition of the guides indefinitely.
