The Court of Appeals for the 3rd District of California has declined to order publication of its decision upholding an award of benefits to a security guard for an injury he suffered after chasing an unruly patron out of a bus terminal in contradiction of his employer’s instructions.
The court’s decision in Zenith Insurance Co. v. WCAB (Alex) was released last month as an unpublished decision. Only published decisions are binding precedent in California.
