The Texas Division of Workers' Compensation is seeking stakeholder input on what should be included in audits of utilization review agents.
The audits will evaluate the reasonableness of medical necessity decisions as well as the professional certification of the utilization peer reviewer. They also will help determine the methodology and duties of reviewers, as required by the DWC's medical quality review process, the DWC said in a bulletin.
A proposed plan-based audit is available at the DWC website.
Suggestions for the audit can be emailed to OMA@tdi.texas.gov by 5 p.m. on Nov. 3...
