DWC Announces Plans to Evaluate EOBRs During Claims Audits

The Florida Division of Workers' Compensation (DWC) Bureau of Monitoring and Audit has announced plans to add evaluation of Explanations of Bill Review (EOBR) to its claims audits.Bureau Chief Robin Ippolito said in a notice posted on DWC's website this month that EOBRs provide health care providers with the reasons for carriers' reimbursement decisions.Ippolito said requirements for the EOBRs have not substantially changed since July 4, 2004.The reviews must state that the EOBR constitutes a "notice of disallowance or adjustment of payment within the meaning of Section 440.13(7), ...
