Tom Whalen Picked to Head Insurance Producers Division

Kansas Commissioner of Insurance Sandy Praeger has appointed Tom Whalen as director of the Kansas Insurance Department’s Producers Division, the department announced Wednesday.The division is responsible for the qualification and supervision of Kansas insurance agents and agencies, issuing agent licenses, conducting examinations and approving continuing education hours for agents, as well as conducting background checks.Whalen has served as a policy examiner in the department’s life division since 2006.Prior to that, he was an underwriting consultant, an underwriting manager and se...
