A bill to provide paid leave to employees following the birth of a child has been introduced in Vermont, with the cost covered by insurance. S213, introduced by Democrat Senator Ann Cummings, proposes establishing a private insurance-based system to provide up to five weeks paid leave following the birth or adoption of a child.
